Nahuelbuta National Park is located in the Araucanía Region of Chile. It sits atop the highest part of the Cordillera de Nahuelbuta, with elevations not exceeding 1,560 m asl. The principal summits of the park are: Piedra del Águila, Cerro Anay and Alto Nahuelbuta.
The park provides habitat for the Cougar, the Pudú and Darwin's Fox. Among the birds are the Magellanic Woodpecker, the Andean Tapaculo and the Chucao Tapaculo.
The park is famous for its Monkey Puzzle trees.
