Chile: We have a complete update of the data for Chile including several new marine sites, the largest of which is the Mar de Juan Fernández Marine and Coastal Protected Area in the Juan Fernández islands. These new marine sites add an additional 12,000 km2 to the marine extent of Chile.

Montenegro: As part of ongoing communication with the Environmental Protection Agency of Montenegro and their launch of their biodiversity geoportal we have added a boundary for Piva Nature Park which is over 320 km² and links up with Sutjeska National Park in neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Democratic Republic of Congo: As part of ongoing effort to improve the quality of the WDPA for DRC we have been in communication with several partners working in the DRC including the l'Institut Congolais pour la Conservation de la Nature (ICCN) we have added one site designated in 2011, the Réserve du triangle de la Ngiri with an area of 5,270 km² as well as updated year of designation for 19 sites. The Réserve du triangle de la Ngiri is completely contained with the large Ramsar site Ngiri-Tumba-Maindombe which was added to the WDPA in August of 2017.
